Maryann Held is Philadelphia area based artist, maker, and craftsperson. Her work is inspired by folk art, including PA Dutch and illuminated manuscripts, as well as her life long fascination with zoology and botany. At times brightly intricate, and at others darkly surreal, her work explores the relationship between the beautiful and the macabre.
